Do you want beautiful photographs of your family, but also want to have a fun and stress-free experience that everyone will enjoy?
Let me take care of everything for you! No need to worry about feeling awkward in front of the camera or nervous about your children behaving. I am a mom of two and relating to kids of all ages is my specialty. I’ll provide helpful advice in terms of session flow and poses that aren’t forced or awkward.

Family Session Info
Outdoor Sessions
Outdoor family sessions are 45 min. These photo shoots are kept relaxed and natural with minimal posing or props. There are no rules, just gentle guidance from me about where to go and what to do. Your job is to just play and hang out with your kids — I’ll capture the love and connection in your family in a beautiful and artistic way. I will take a nice variety of posed and candid shots during the session and will be sure to include any of your specific shot requests.
Your booking includes a pre-session phone consultation, during which we will discuss location, timing, wardrobe and your overall vision for the session. Pets are always welcome to join as long as they are easy to control. They are part of the family, too!
Studio Sessions
Studio sessions are also 45 min long . We help you pose in accordance with the mood or theme you would like to reflect in your photos. There is less environment and more you in these photos. I will be listening to your requests and ideas as I guide you through posing. A relaxed session and beautiful images are the focus of these sessions. Studio sessions are for families of 4 or 5. If you would like a big family photo shoot, call us with details so we can make it happen for you.
Big Family Sessions
When you come together with your extended family and you want to remember this day, these sessions are for you. It covers 6-15 people. These sessions are done either at an outdoor location or at your place. For indoor shoots, we bring our studio lights to you. We can do different group shoots as you want, such as big family, grandparents-grandchildrens only, ladies only, or individual families and children only. We provide mix of candid and posed shots.

Family Sessions Q&A
Where is the best place for family photos?
Most clients prefer beautiful Calgary parks for summer and fall. I usually shoot at Bowness, Edworthy, Confederation or Riley Park. Some clients prefer their own homes and yards. During Christmas season, we are usually indoors. I also set-up my studio with holiday props for children and families.
What time of the day is recommended for outdoor family sessions?
The best time for outdoor portraits is within 2 hours before sunset for summer and fall sessions. If it is winter, it doesn’t really matter as the sun will always be low, but you wouldn’t like to do it in the dark either, so it shouldn’t be later than 3pm depending on the month.
What to wear for the family session?
I recommend picking clothing for your family that coordinates, but doesn’t match perfectly. Select 2-3 colors that complement each other and then add texture and layers when possible. Feel free to bring items that have significance or meaning to your children. A handmade outfit or blanket, or perhaps a favorite lovey or toy. Incorporating these details will make your portraits even more unique and special to your family.
What is the pre-session phone meeting about?
We have a pre-session phone meeting with all of our clients to communicate the session type (indoor/outdoor), the location, the theme, style, props, preferred colors and clothing.
What if it rains on our photo shoot day?
If the weather is not cooperative on our shooting day, we can always reschedule it for the nearest possible date.
Can we bring our pet to the family photo shoot?
Your pet is part of your family, so yes, they can be in the pictures as long as they are well behaved and not disruptive during the photo shoot.
Do you do outdoor family shoots during winter?
Yes, as long as it is not too cold, we do outdoor winter photos. Both brown and white nature backdrop are fantastic for winter family sessions.
Can we have our family photo taken at our place in a lifestyle fashion?
Yes, I do take lifestyle family sessions at clients’ home. There is a $75 travel fee for on-location services.
What to expect after our session?
Within a week following your session, you receive a gallery of soft edited images. Then you choose your images that is included in your session and order the ones you would like to have additionally. Within a week from your selection, you receive your fully edited high resolution digital images in an online gallery where you can download for yourself and share with your loved ones.
Do you have a special offering about family sessions?
If you want to book both indoor family session and a professional headshot session, you can get a 25% off on your headshot, provided you book these two sessions for the same day. Please contact the photographer for discount code before your online booking.
