Happy 1st Birthday!
Now your little one is turning 1. It’s time to celebrate this big milestone. Their cute hands and tiny toes covered with butter cream is a hilarious way to remember their first birthday. We capture the amazement in their eyes as they are tasting something sweet for the first time, their giggles and chubby hands grabbing the cake and shoving it in their mouths. Enjoy every moment when we photograph your little one’s first cake tasting experience. Hopefully she will enjoy it as much as you do. After all, it’s not every day that you get an entire cake to yourself.
Cake Smash Session Info
Cake smash sessions can be done either in studio or outdoors. It takes about 1 hr. Our studio is set up for your session with fun and festive décors and backdrops before you arrive. Clients bring their own cake when coming to their session. This way they have full control on getting the right cake for their dietary preferences. (lactose free, gluten free, less sweet or peanut free, etc.) We need to communicate beforehand about what color of icing should go on the cake top as we usually match it with our decors. We have a selection of one-year-old outfits for cake smashes. You can either use our wardrobe or bring your own clothes. Recommended clothing is rompers or just shorts/skirts/tutus to cover the diaper and the rest is just naked to be accessorized with bow ties or necklaces. We start with no cake poses when the baby is still clean. If you would like to include siblings or parents in a few poses, it can be done at this stage. Later it will get messier and messier! And more fun! After you book your session, we will have a brief pre-session phone consultation where we will communicate all the necessary details regarding our photo session.

When should I book my baby's cake smash photos?
Cake smash sessions are designed to celebrate the baby’s 1st year. So, it can be booked for any time after your baby turns 1.
Can we have our cake smash session outdoors?
Absolutely! Especially for summer months, as long as it is warm outside, we can do it at any Calgary park you choose with or without decors & props.
Who provides the cake for the photos?

What is pre-session phone meeting about?
We have a pre-session phone meeting with all of our clients to communicate the session type (indoor/outdoor), the location, the theme, style, props, preferred colors and clothing.
What to wear for the cake smash session?
If you have a specific dress in your mind for your little one’s 1st birthday, you can bring it. Otherwise, we have selection of clothes for girls and boys. The most favourite style is naked top, shorts, suspenders or bowties for boys and naked top, skirts, necklaces, headbands for girls. Babies are always bare feet at these sessions.
Can you accomodate our color themes or setting preferences for the session?
Yes, we have lots of decors and props for different colour themes and styles, for girls and boys. We can try to match your expectations in terms of photo setting.
Can you include a few mom & baby poses in the session?
Absolutely. We usually take family shots before the cake.
What to expect after our session?
Within a week following your session, you receive a gallery of soft edited images. Then you choose your images that is included in your session and order the ones you would like to have additionally. Within a week from your selection, you receive your fully edited high resolution digital images in an online gallery where you can download for yourself and share with your loved ones.
